Taking the Picture
The first step in getting the picture you want on the forums is as simple as "Print Screen." On your keyboard, located top right corner (usually above "Insert") is the "Print Screen" key.
All you need to for this first step is simply set up your screen in the way you would like your picture to be and hit that key. It will seem like you have done absolutely nothing but by hitting that key you have given a command to your computer to remember everything on the screen. Now, you must open up paint, or any other photo editing program of your choice, and "right-click > paste". A still image of your entire screen at the second you pressed "Print Screen" will show up in front of you and it is now up to you to crop it the way you see fit.
Saving the Picture
From the title, this may sound easy, but it gets so many people just because they skip this simple step. When saving your picture, click "File > Save as" just as you normally would, but this time before you click save make sure that is is a PNG.file. If it is not a PNG. then open the drop down menu and change it from what ever it is to PNG.
It MUST be a PNG.file to upload, if it is not then it will de-pixel when it is hosted as an Internet file.
Uploading the Picture
Now that you have saved the picture all that is left before posting is hosting it as an Internet file. This part is relatively straight forward but I will go through it just in case anyone gets confused along the way.
There are a number of websites made purely for hosting images but I will only be going over 3 of them since these (in my opinion) are the best out there and the easiest to use.
Number 1: www.tinypic.com
Click the "Browse" button and search through your pictures untill you find the file you want to upload. Once you have opened it click "Upload Now!" and be patient while it is hosted. This process varies in time depending on the size of your image. Once it finished uploading copy the "IMG Code" (the second one on the page) and you are all set of the final step!
Number 3: www.imageshack.com
Click the "Browse" button and search through your pictures untill you find the file you want to upload. Once you have opened it click "start upload!" and be patient while it is hosted. This process varies in time depending on the size of your image. Once it finished uploading copy the "IMG Code" and you are all set of the final step!
Number 3: www.freeimagehosting.net
This one is a little bit more tricky then the first 2 but personally, my favourite. Click the "Browse" button and search through your pictures untill you find the file you want to upload. Once you have opened it click "Upload Image" and be patient while it is hosted. This process varies in time depending on the size of your image. Once it's finished uploading click view, and it should show your image full sized. From here "right-click > copy image" and now you are all ready for the final step!
Adding to the Forums
You are finally here, the last step! From here all you need to do is take the "IMG Code" or raw image that you copied from the last page and paste it in your post/thread. To be honest, you should have been able to figure out this step yourself but again, it always helps to have guidance.
I hope this helps all those who were having trouble posting pictures!
Best of luck,

Re: How to take a screen shot on Windows
Just letting you guys know a few things.
It can be .PNG or .JPEG (jpeg is better) Hes wrong about the pixeling thing. Photobucket.com is great for uploading and you get LOADS of storage. And you can copy paste the print screen into photoshop too.
If someone is flaming/threatening you or the site. Please takee a print screen and i will look at it and ban them if need be.
